Roger Waters has been a huge influence on me lyrically and also in terms of how he approaches his work. The term genius gets bandied about too much, but in his case I think it's more than applicable. I've wanted to make a Rog playlist for ages, but it's so hard to take a song and remove it from the context of it's album. I think I've done a pretty good job here. So enjoy one of the most paranoid and neurotic Kasts I've done, but listen out for the excellent guitar work from David Gilmour, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck that goes on in these tunes.

I decided to put my collection of vinyl to good use, so I made a kast consisting entirely of vinyl rips. It was all run from my turntable through my valve system (kt88s for all you geeks). How hipster is that? The file is a little larger than normal because it's encoded at a higher bit rate, y'know, so you can hear all the crackles and pops properly.

David Allan Coe is probably my favourite country singer. I doubt I'd want to hang out with the guy, but he sure has a great voice. Now, over the next 50-odd minutes you're going to hear some big boy words and some less than politically correct sentiments. Just remember that most of these songs were written in the 1970s, in Texas. A little context goes a long way.

I was worrying about how I could possibly follow last week's Kast, and then I thought: how about a bootleg of Pink Floyd performing Dark Side Of The Moon live in 1974? Yeah, that'll probly be OK...
