Sometimes musicians fall out with other musicians and, musicians being musicians, sometimes they compose a little ditty about said falling out. To use the parlance of our times (or at least my times): "They get mad beef and have to spit diss on wax." The following, then, is a selection of tunes that are either a direct message to an ex friend, ex lover, ex bandmate or at least a sly little dignified dig at one. (The name of the person/persons the song refers to is in brackets)

Joe Tex - You Keep Her (James Brown)
Eazy E - Real Muthafuckin G's (Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg)
Megadeth - Something That I'm Not (Metallica)
Sisters Of Mercy - This Corrosion (The Mission)
Ice Cube - No Vaseline (NWA)
Paul McCartney - 3 Legs (John Lennon)
John Lennon - How Do You Sleep? (Paul McCartney)
